We are very happy about the first test review of our new Mono Power Amplifiers in the HiFi Statement Magazine.

Come, see and hear us at the High End in Munich! We are demonstrating our digital Players with the excellent speaker systems of our partners, the Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur (WLM).

The weekend of February 2nd/3rd saw another edition of the Norddeutsche HiFi-Tage fair in Hamburg. Ca. 6.500 visitors came to see and hear. We were represented in 3 rooms at once:

• With Avantgarde Acoustic in room Ilmenau 1
• With the Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur in room 447
• With Hemiolia Tonbändern and the Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur in room 448

There were a lot of lectures and discussions. Wolfgang Kemper judged about our presentation: „… some of the best of what I heard at the fair.“ Here are a few impressions from the fair:

The chief editor of HiFi-Statement compares our Model 4 with his benchmark for digital playback: Melco Server, Japanese Telegärtner-Switch, Auralic Streamer and Chord DAC – with a price tag total in excess of EUR 22.000 – and concludes that the sound of our Model 4 “is simply closer to the analogue original”.

… and that at a third of the price! They could not have made us a more beautiful Christmas present.

Quotes: „…When it comes to creating a huge and deep acoustic space, the DAS is at the top of the game. … I know of no competitor that would come close to the Model 4.“

Comparing PCM to DSD playback: „… Already the PCM version leaves no wishes unfulfilled: The tonality is perfect, music flows without any hint of digital harshness; the depth of the acoustic image amazes. In short: I have rarely heard the digital version of this piece so fluently. The DSD version appears even smoother – a hint more flowing and round.“

In comparision to the digital benchmark components, „… the DAS creates just a tad more acoustical space and exudes just a bit more warmth. Even if it may sound corny: In my view, the sound of the DAS is simply closer to the analogue original.“

Summary: „The Model 4 of Digitale Audio Systeme is excellently built, can be operated without any computer knowledge and offers excellent ease of use. But above all, it’s sound quality convinces: It beams the listener into huge acoustical spaces, has no digital harshness and generates a warm analogue sound. It is a sonic indulgence of the highest order – not just for analogue fans!“

Result: Absolute Top Class. 93 points. Stereoplay Highlight.       

Evaluation: “You cannot wish for more from a digital music player. DAS’ Model 2 enchants with its stunning design, extremely high user convenience and absolute reliability. Musically, it plays precisely and transparently and – unusual for a digital player – highly emotionally. If you have missed soul in modern digital playback devices, you definitely should audition DAS’ Model 2.”

This year again, Munich saw the High End Show from May 10-13. 20.000 visitors came to see the latest in high end audio technology. Digital Audio Systems exhibited with its partners, Wiener Lautsprecher Manufaktur und Way Cables, in the Atrium Room F220 on 70 sqm. The exhibition was a tremendous success with quite a number of visitors claiming to have heard “the best sound of the whole show” in our room (!).
